How do Group Courses take place?

All the group courses take place over a period of 6-8 weeks, depending upon the chosen topic. All are conducted with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 children. Each course involves experiential learning, with a new topic being introduced each week and reflection exercises being given which provide a rich source of discussion in the subsequent weeks.

Post-session information is given after each session so as to keep the parent abreast of what was covered in session, and to help them continue the learning at home.

The intention behind the group courses is to invite a sense of community with regards to various concerns, develop positive ways of being, and also empower children as well as the parents to make the work a part of their life going ahead.

FAQs

  • All these courses are designed to build positive habits and create lasting change. The way that can happen is if children experience the topic of the day, and then go home to try it out over the coming week. On the next class, we can review how it went and what needs more work. Long-lasting learning cannot take place in a one-off class.

  • If you miss a session, you will get a short guide on the learning that took place so you can deliver the lesson yourself. There are also the following options:

    • I can include your child over Zoom while I have the in-person session with the rest of the group.

    • Come a little earlier for the next session and I will go through the previous topic with your child.

  • Yes, I do. Please check the 1:1 Mentoring page on my website. Alternatively, please get in touch with me via the contact form or through social media for more details.

  • These course are open to all.

  • The courses are designed in such a way so as to build a sense of community. A lot of the time, dealing with things like anger, anxiety, or peer pressure can feel very isolating. It helps children immensely when they hear each other’s stories and are able to share their own. They understand that they are not alone and that nothing is “wrong“ with them for feeling the way they are. Having a minimum of 4 children ensures that there is enough possibility of group discussion.
